What is this and does it sting?











This critter is in our backyard.
I don't know whether to tell the girls it's OK or if they need to stay away from it.
It looks like a cross between a hummingbird and a wasp.

    It is a hummingbird moth - totally safe.

    I love hummingbird moths! And I'm very impressed at this picture. You must be using a very fast shutter speed! :-)
